My early interests were formed by my environment. I grew up on a ranch in Central California, surrounded by nature, animals, endless acres of crops, sparkling water and clear, blue skies.
As a result, I spent a lot of time outside playing with all kinds of animals, sketching, writing and contemplating the universe. You could say that was the beginning of my balancing logic with creativity and faith.
So far, the path I have taken in my life is no surprise to me, or those who know me. I left home for college at 17. I started my career in advertising and marketing, working for high-tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. That creative field led to hobbies that I still enjoy today – interior design, writing, cooking, baking, crafting and gardening.
My penchant for order, logic and arguing would lead me to law school. At 38, I earned a law degree and worked for some law firms. I argued a lot.
At that time, my husband and I moved to a canyon in a small town in Northern California. We added two rescue Maltipoos to our family. Once again, I was surrounded by my beloved nature. That’s when I started to take photography more seriously.
Photography has allowed me to breathe again. I feel inspired. I get to spend my time at the ocean, on the lake, looking at trees, clouds, flowers and interesting architecture. I now have a way to capture animals and children spontaneously in natural settings.
You can say, I’ve come full circle. And nothing has been wasted. I employ all of my experiences in this creative business.
I hope you’re inspired as you look at my art. I hope it is an escape for you as it is for me. Perhaps when you see the world through my eyes, it will make you think about what makes your soul sing.
You’re a gem,
